It’s been quiet here on the FormaCars website (too quiet – has it really been over 6 months?) but we’ve been quite busy in the shop. We’ve been preparing our cars for display at Barrett-Jackson.
Since our last post:
- We brought our Mark IV & 818 to the local Arthritis Foundation Car show, one of the biggest in Central Ohio. Our 818 took home the best in class award for the kit car class.
- We took our 818 to the drag strip at import nationals where the stock WRX 5 speed transmission lived up to its reputation and failed before the first run. So, it got rebuilt and upgraded with straight cut gears, an upgraded differential and clutch. Unfortunately, winter came before we could make another run at it.
- We stripped out the interior on our Mark IV and redid it. As nice as it was, we thought it could be better. So it’s got better materials, better fit and finish, a glove box and an audio system.
- Finished the custom interior and twin EFR turbo setup on our Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe. It looks fantastic and ought to run like stink.
So the Mark IV and 818 got loaded up in the big trailer (in the snow!) last week and headed for Scottsdale. We wrapped up our work on the Type 65 this week and sent it out too just yesterday. Look for more pics next week from Scottsdale.
If you’re going to be at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale next week, look for our big neon trailer and stop and say hello. We’d love to talk to you about building you your dream car.
